ARTIST STATEMENT
My fascination with patterns and symmetry found everywhere has led me on this journey. All of my pieces are created from my original digital photographs. I select specific sizes and shapes of sections of my photos and reproduce them in a mirror image radial pattern.
When shooting a subject for a prospective piece, I look for strong elements and unique combinations.Utilizing not only the literal edges of the subject, but also the interplay of shadow and light and areas of soft versus hard focus enable me to emphasize the subtle patterns that already exist in the photograph. My process works equally well with the smallest detail of a natural subject, the grandeur of a landscape, and even man’s creations.
I print, matt and frame my work up to 12 1/2” print size. Dye-infused aluminum prints on float frames and larger prints are out-sourced.
